ALL-FILL ATTENDS PMMI ELC (EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE)

May 9th, 2018

From April 28 through May 1, All-Fill was in attendance for PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, formerly known as Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute ELC (Executive Leadership Conference) held this year in Orlando, Florida. Each Spring, PMMI hosts the ELC in an attempt to gather packaging executives for three days of collaboration, idea sharing, networking and industry specific presentations.

“The ELC is a great way to make connections within the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) marketplace,” says Kyle Edginton, Executive Vice-President of All-Fill. “PMMI does a great job of linking manufacturers just like All-Fill as well as making introductions to suppliers across our industry. I really get a lot out of the PMMI meetings whether it be the ELC in the Spring or PMMI annual meeting help each Fall.”

PMMI provides a relaxed atmosphere which allows All-Fill and other manufacturers to get to know one another, and learn that we a lot in common. “It is great when OEM’s can relate with each other,” exclaims Edginton. “I really enjoy when PMMI gathers a panel consisting of the purchasers of our machinery, it allows for a moderator to question them as to what they expect from a company like All-Fill. The customer let’s us know what they want to see, what they really value and what they expect moving forward.”

A robotics presentation was the highlight of this years ELC, which gave PMMI members an inside look at the current and future capabilities of AI (artificial intelligence), and a current evaluation of the economy- most specific to the packaging industry. The presentation was graced by a guest speaker familiar to many- Jimmy Johnson, Super Bowl winning coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

PMMI was originally founded in 1933 and is currently located in Reston, VA. They offer three membership categories, General, Supplier and Materials. PMMI’s main role in the packaging industry is to put on the Pack Expo trade shows that attract almost every manufacturer. They have over 800 member companies and provide countless resources to manufacturers looking to grow their operation. For more information about PMMI, please visit, https://www.pmmi.org/

All-Fill anxiously looks forward to PMMI’s largest tradeshow this fall, Pack Expo International located in Chicago, IL from October 14th through October 17th.
