ALL-FILL IS A PMMI MEMBER

1973

ALL COMPANIES HAVE A GREAT SUCCESS STORY; ALLOW US TO PROUDLY SHARE OURS. ALL-FILL INC. IS A FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED THAT HAS THRIVED OVER THE COURSE OF THREE GENERATIONS OF EDGINTON’S.

Since the very beginning in 1969 some employees have come and gone, others are still employed to this day. The industry has changed and All-Fill was eager to adapt along the way. There were tough times, there were always great times. No matter the business, the key to success is hard work and determination. Never was this truer than the very beginning, the early years in which the first employees were laying the structural foundation and required work ethic for long term success and growth. At All-Fill, we have a great story to tell, enjoy following the history of our company throughout this blog series and we will get back to work so that we can continue writing future chapters.

1973

IN 1973, ALL-FILL OFFICIALLY BECAME A MEMBER OF PMMI (WWW.PMMI.COM).

PMMI (Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute) membership was truly a landmark moment for the company. PMMI is a trade organization consisting of manufacturers in packaging, processing and machinery components. In the early days of existence, the PMMI members were exclusively manufacturers of packaging machinery. PMMI publishes a magazine, PMT (Packaging Machinery Technology) and produces several Pack Expo trade show events most notably the annual, alternating year trade shows of Pack Expo-Chicago and Pack Expo Las Vegas. Both trade shows still serve as All-Fill’s best lead source today!

PMMI was founded/incorporated on August 21st, 1933. All-Fill was one of the early members of PMMI as there was great value in joining for discounted floor space at the trade shows. In addition, joining the PMMI was a brilliant move as floor space is still selected on a first

come, first serve basis. All-Fill in the top 5% of all trade show attendees thanks in part because of our early inception to the PMMI. Additional benefits of PMMI include industry reporting such as data, trends and case studies in addition to the many opportunities to network within the industry. As mentioned in previous posts, OEM relationships were so important to All-Fill during the early days and the PMMI allowed for many of the opportunities to arise.

AS ALL-FILL CONTINUED TO GROW AND GAINED LEGITIMACY DUE TO ITS INCLUSION TO THE PMMI, THE STANDARD AUGER FILLING MACHINE CONTINUED TO EVOLVE.

Gone were the days of the timer to initiate the fill cycle, the fill motor was rapidly making its way into the marketplace. All-Fill adapted a fill motor and housed it into a blunt nose, cast aluminum head casting. The painted white head became an All-Fill staple and easily gained recognition in the industry. All-Fill continued to evolve the design of machine and willingness to get

involved with trickier, more complex applications. The semi-automatic auger filling machine and multiple spindle (multi-fill) auger filling machine were still be manufactured as the primary machine sold but this led way to other advances in regard to machine design for various applications.
