THE BEGINNING OF AUGER FABRICATION

THE BEGINNING OF AUGER FABRICATION

1984

ALL COMPANIES HAVE A GREAT SUCCESS STORY; ALLOW US TO PROUDLY SHARE OURS. ALL-FILL INC. IS A FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED THAT HAS THRIVED OVER THE COURSE OF THREE GENERATIONS OF EDGINTON’S.

Since the very beginning of 1969 some employees have come and gone, others are still employed to this day. The industry has changed and All-Fill was eager to adapt along the way. There were tough times, there were always great times. No matter the business, the key to success is hard work and determination. Never was this truer than in the very beginning, the early years in which the first employees laid the structural foundation and required a work ethic for long-term success and growth. At All-Fill, we have a great story to tell, enjoy following the history of our company throughout this blog series and we will get back to work so that we can continue writing future chapters.

1984

ALL-FILL HAS AND WILL ALWAYS ATTEMPT TO CONTROL OUR LEADS TIMES BY DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE “IN HOUSE."

“We do not want to have to rely on anyone else that could possibly affect our delivery, it is inevitable that we do have to work with vendors, but we like to eliminate all long lead time items so that we can work as fast as possible. Timing is everything and the customer appreciates that,” said Dick Edginton in 1979. As a result of the philosophy, Auger Fabrication was introduced as a compliment to All-Fill Inc.

Since the inception of All-Fill Inc. in 1969, augers, funnels and other accessories were typically sourced from outside vendors. The lead time on “tooling” as it is often referred to was often a few weeks. As All-Fill became efficient with building semi-automatic auger filling machines or had a need to provide a stock machine on a quick delivery, the tooling would often be received well after the date that the machinery could be provided. Dick wanted a way to make the tooling himself and Auger Fabrication was the perfect solution.

AUGER FABRICATION HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE A SUPPLIER OF NEW AND AFTERMARKET TOOLING TO THE END USERS OF ALL-FILL AUGER FILLERS AS WELL AS ANY OTHER BRAND OF AUGER FILLING MACHINES.

In addition, beyond the realm of the auger filling industry, they can easily manufacture helical flight and metering design with the intent of metering various products for many different industries.

Gary Baker and Dick Edginton were partners in Auger Manufacturing and Dick’s decision to branch off was seen as a sign that All-Fill had a foothold in the industry as a major player and they needed a complimentary company to validate their existence. Auger Fabrication would have a customer base they would directly cross-reference the customer base at All-Fill yet also have customers that they dealt solely with. In essence, All-Fill would now have an in-house manufacturing company for tooling that could dictate deliveries and pricing.

THE FORMATION OF AUGER FABRICATION WAS ALSO BENEFICIAL FOR ALL-FILL LTD. BASED IN SANDY, ENGLAND, UK AS THEY NOW HAD A RELIABLE RESOURCE IN AUGER FABRICATION FOR ALL OF THEIR TOOLING NEEDS.

“The main benefit of Auger Fabrication is that they specialize in the design and manufacturing of a very custom part. Oftentimes product does not run as originally expected, with the emergence of Auger Fabrication, All-Fill can easily make on the fly modifications to troubleshoot product handling issues,” says longtime All-Fill/Auger Fabrication President Glenn Edginton.

OVER THE COURSE OF TIME, AUGER FABRICATION HAS SEEN STEADY GROWTH AS THEY HAVE BRANCHED OUT INTO SEVERAL SPECIALTY MARKETS.

They do a lot of work with All-Fill OEM partners regarding VFFS (Vertical Form Fill Seal) and HFFS (Horizontal Form Fill Seal) installations. Auger Fabrication, just like All-Fill Inc., always offers free lab testing to best evaluate sample products. We want to provide the perfect solution for your packaging needs and together we will!
