Downingtown Robotics Team

Recently, a group of high school students from the Downingtown Area Robotics Team were interested in visiting All-Fill Inc. and learning more about what we have to offer. Team 14423, the RoboCorns, competes in FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) as a part of Downingtown Area Robotics, in Exton, PA. They have been a team for the past 7 years, competing in FIRST Lego League (FLL) for 3 seasons, and FTC for 4 seasons. We always enjoy welcoming young minded students to our facility to learn more about the industry and future career opportunities that are available.

DAR Team Captain stated, "We enjoyed seeing the various machinery your company manufactures in action. Your explanation of the assembly line used in your workspace was useful in
understanding the importance of each step of the design process that we try to abide by when we work during the season. It was very helpful to our team as we were able to see the design process of various machines in the real world on a larger scale compared to the robots we design and build for competition. As each of us grows up, finding careers that relate to the work that we do for our robotics team is something that we are exploring. This tour truly opened our eyes to some of the machinery that is involved in making products that we use every day!"

She also mentioned that after the tour, one of her team members said "The machinery that All-Fill manufactures is involved in the creation of products that we use every day. We learned that they follow a process that is very similar to what we do during the robotics competition season. We enjoyed meeting some of the engineers involved in their assembly line and were able to see some possible future careers that utilize skills that we learn in robotics."

Downingtown Area Robotics is a volunteer non-profit organization that teaches K-12 students hands-on skills. They teach STEM skills, leadership skills and life skills. As well as teaching marketing, project management, social media management and communication skills to our students who are not necessarily interested in STEM skills. They use FIRST robotics as a framework for our programs. Their students are from the Chester County Area and DAR is not a school-based team, so everyone is welcome to join. To learn more, visit DARobotics.org.
